Ensure a call is recorded
Optimizing Call Recording with MeetRecord
Once you're set up for call imports, MeetRecord automatically records or uploads every call—no additional steps required.
- Online Meeting Calls: MeetRecord joins as a participant if the call is added to your calendar with a meeting link.
- Dialers/Telephony Systems: Recorded calls are automatically uploaded to MeetRecord.
Tip: For unexpected calls, notify MeetRecord via your homepage to record the meeting. Learn more in the Record an Impromptu Call guide. If you encounter recording issues, check the Tips for Recording Calls or troubleshoot unrecorded calls with our Troubleshooting Guide.
Best Practices for Web Conferencing Calls
While MeetRecord captures most meetings, certain scenarios may prevent automatic recording. Follow these best practices to ensure web conferencing calls are recorded effectively:
1. Schedule Meetings in Advance
- Schedule meetings at least 30 minutes prior to the start time.
- MeetRecord needs time to scan and analyze calendar events to schedule recordings.
- For last-minute or unplanned meetings, manually add the MeetRecord bot. Learn how in the Record an Impromptu Call guide.
2. Include a Valid Web Conferencing URL
- Always include the web conferencing URL when creating a calendar event.
- Avoid adding the URL to an existing event at the last minute, as this may not provide MeetRecord enough time to process updates.
3. Avoid Marking Events as 'Private'
- Marking an event as 'Private' hides meeting details from MeetRecord, preventing it from joining the call.
- Ensure meeting details are visible to enable recording.
4. Grant MeetRecord Access to the Meeting Room
- For meetings using a “waiting room,” ensure the bot is admitted to the meeting.
- If the meeting is password-protected, include the password in the invitation. Learn more in the Recording Meetings with a Passcode guide.
